エチゴビール
As part of our series on Japanese beers which has included reviews of craft beer in Japan, Sapporo Classic and Sapporo Kaitakushi, it is a pleasure to sample Echigo's India Pale Ale.
Niigata-based Echigo, which came into being in 1994, claim to be Japan's first micro-brewery and their IPA is indeed a fine beer. The first thing you notice about the 6% ABV brew is its pleasing aroma followed by the fine color and substantial head.
Echigo produces a range of beers including a stout, a pilsner, a red ale and a white ale all available on their online shop in boxes of 4 or 6.
